Image Compressor questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs inside your browser using your own device. Your images are never sent anywhere, which also makes it fast.
What quality should I choose?
For photos, 70 to 80 percent usually looks the same as the original and saves a lot of space. Go lower only if you need a very small file, and check the result.
Why did my image hardly get smaller?
It was probably compressed already. If the tool cannot beat the original it keeps your file as it was instead of making it worse. Reducing the maximum width or switching to WebP usually helps.
Does it keep transparency?
PNG and WebP keep transparency. JPG does not support it, so transparent areas become white if you convert to JPG.
What happens to photo details like location?
Compressed images do not keep EXIF metadata such as camera details and GPS location. There is one exception: if an image is marked "kept as it was", you get your original file back, including any metadata it contains.
