PDF to Word questions
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Your PDF is opened and converted inside your browser. It never leaves your device, so this is safe for contracts, CVs and other private documents.
Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?
PDFs do not store paragraphs the way Word does, so "Editable text" rebuilds them. Headings, bold, italics and pictures come through, but complex layouts such as multiple columns and tables may need tidying. "Exact look" keeps the appearance, but each page becomes a picture you cannot edit.
Can it convert scanned PDFs?
A scanned PDF is a photo of a page and has no real text. The tool detects this and gives you a Word file with each page as a picture. It does not read text out of images (OCR), so the words cannot be edited.
Does it work with Urdu, Arabic and Hindi PDFs?
Right-to-left text is detected and set up as right-to-left in Word. Results depend on how the PDF was made. Some PDFs, especially older Urdu and Hindi ones, store text in a way that does not extract correctly, so use "Exact look" for those.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Not at the moment. Remove the password first, using the app you normally open the PDF with, then convert it here.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no set limit, but your device does all the work, so very large PDFs can be slow on a phone. A computer handles them better.
